Thank you for a wonderful Staff Appreciation Day and Lunch last week. The staff was blown away by the kindness and the exceptional meal. This week we will be busy experimenting and writing for our science fair project. Thank you for bringing your science fair boards in. Students will begin assembling their boards next week. If you have yet to bring in a science fair board, please bring one in as soon as possible.
We are beginning to learn different strategies to add and subtract within 200 for math. I'm attaching some supports for your child to aide them in their math homework this week.
The link below is an example of the math homework using he arrow method.
Reading: We will be reading a historical fiction book about the secret quilt codes of the Underground Railroad. We will be working to connect our prior knowledge about Harriet Tubman to our reading in the book.
Writing: Students will be conducting the experiments for their science fair project and writing their results.
Math: Students will be learning how to make friendly tens to add and subtract. This is called compensation.
