I hope you enjoyed the wonderful weather with your family this weekend. This Wednesday, March 1st is the Mountain Elementary science fair. The 2nd grade has been working very hard to learn the scientific method and design our own experiment using the scientific method. We will begin publishing and assembling our boards on Tuesday. If you haven’t already done so, please ensure your child has a color science fair board at school. Parents are encouraged to come and visit the science fair. Our boards will be on display from 9:50a.m-12:00p.m. on Wednesday. Children will also be welcome to take home their boards on Thursday, March 2nd to share with families.
Starting Monday I am allowing students to bring home their independent reading books to read for their nightly homework. The opportunity to read classroom library books at home is optional for students. To ensure our classroom library books return to the classroom, I am asking all students who choose to bring independent reading books home to keep their blue homework folder in their backpack permanently. The blue folder will enable the student to transport the books to and from school daily. After finishing nightly reading at home, I am asking students who use the classroom books to place the classroom library book back in their blue folder in their backpack so the book is ready to go to school the next day for independent reading time.
Have a wonderful week!
