Collecting
Mary Beth Duncan and I are collecting green wrapping paper scraps. We will be making mosaics of continents for our play sets and shiny green wrapping paper would be a wonderful asset. Please send your child to school with any shiny green wrapping paper scraps you may have after the holiday. Thanks!

12/16-Pajama Day
12/18-Hliday Sing 11:00-12:00
12/19-Writing Celebration. 1 blanket and 1 pillow allowed. Please send student to school with blanket and pillow in a labeled garbage bag.
12/19-1/2-No School Winter Break
Learning for 12/15-12/18
Reading:
Students will continue to study immigration. In small reading groups students are learning to monitor their thinking to improve comprehension. Students are learning to predict using evidence from the text.
Math:
Students are continuing to work with place value and understanding numbers between 1-1,000. Students are learning the standard, expanded and written form of writing numbers.
Writing:
Students are finishing their personal narrative stories. We have been focusing on expanding our writing, making our writing more powerful and choosing powerful words for our writing.
Special Activities:
We will be watching the Banana Slug String Band on Tuesday. We will be creating a special holiday craft on Tuesday afternoon. On Thursday we will have our holiday sing along from 11:00-12:00. Thursday afternoon we will have our writing celebration from 1:00-2:00 and our buddy holiday craft party from 2:00-2:45pm.
